intimate, candid, and naturally badass photography

Ottawa + beyond

When I decided to start fresh early this year I knew I wanted to spend a lot more time on body positivity and natural boudoir. Don’t get me wrong, I love glam shit but it’s not my personal photography style. I much prefer messy hair, smeared makeup and oversized shirts over heels and red lips. BUT! Stay tuned for some sexy as hell sessions that went down at Amanda’s Antiques a few weeks ago..but ssshhhh, soon..

Anywho, I had a crazy amount of women interested in helping me with this project! I only had a few rules: 1- no out of the ordinary hair or makeup 2- sessions are in-home and nope, I don’t wanna see what I’m working with beforehand, and 3- we NEED to incorporate fishnets/croptops/stockings because that’s just what I wanted. So there. Ha.

Every single one of these women friggin’ killed it. None had ever had boudoir photos taken before. NEVER EVER.

A big part of this collection ties in with my previous blog post about excuses women (and men!) make up when fighting with themselves about having boudoir photos done. You can check that out àhere

One thing each one said to me afterwards was how sexy they felt. K, stop the eye rolling right now ‘cause that’s not gonna fly with me. I absolutely do not care what you say or think; every, EVERY woman/man wants to feel sexy. It doesn’t matter if they’re 21, 45, or 72. Every single last one of us has wanted to feel attractive, to have someone look twice, or to be able to look in the mirror and like what you see. Whether it’s for ourselves, husbands, wives, boyfriends or girlfriends. Whether it’s done with the best of intentions or a big fuck you to an ex, we ALL want to FEEL sexy.

It’s not my goal to make your man or woman love the pictures, as nice as it is to hear their reactions. It’s my goal to help you see how fine you are. You’re a fuckin’ fox. Don’t even pretend like you don’t know someone in the world has checked you out and wanted to get freaky. It doesn’t matter if you’re tall, short, petite, plus size, bald or 3 eyes – there’s something hot about everyone. It’s totally normal for me now to check out strangers everywhere I go and think ‘Ohmygod she would look so good in a plaid shirt or a bodysuit” or “Fuck would I love to shoot him in ripped jeans”. Try it out. Try and find something sexy about everyone..it kinda makes it easier to see it in yourself, too. Practice makes perfect babe. There’s nothing much more satisfying that nailing that thing you were scared of and blowing your own mind, and I think it’s safe to say that’s what happened with Everyday.

Mission accomplished.
