After a stint in wedding and event planning I quickly discovered that details are my jam. Pulling together mood boards, creating colour pallets, pairing textures and styling venues is my happy place. So with fall fast tracking in the Gatineau hills I knew I had to get my ass in gear if I wanted the chance to style AND shoot my very first styled shoot.

Rather than reaching out to vendors in Hull or Ottawa I decided to keep it under wraps and just work with Amanda's Antiques in Kazabazua for the table, dress and decor.

So after convincing a couple ridiculously attractive friends of mine to model, I was all set. Boho/southwestern vibes have always been right up my alley and I was so happy to have pulled it all together on a local back road field.  I whipped out my florist skills with wildflowers and seasonal mums for the bouquet and boutonniere; Martha Stewart-ed a DIY velvet ring box; and sifted through thrift shops for accent pieces like the faux fur throw, vintage mismatched silverware, retro bangles and teal stemware.

I must say that I am pretty pleased with myself. So much so that I have another styled shoot scheduled for this coming week. This time I'm pairing with kickass jeweller Open Fire Jewellery, super talented Mark of Run for the Hills, vegan entrepreneur My Tiny Cupboard, design whiz Flourish Creative and cake boss Mandii's Desserts.

Can't wait to share more!!
